Prepare for the Photoshoot

TIPS

General

  • Turn ON all lights and lamps & replace bulbs that are burned out. Lightbulbs should be the same temperature

  • Turn Ceiling fans OFF

  • Remove floor mats and small rugs

  • Open blinds / window treatments to allow natural light in

  • Remove personal / family photos

  • Vacuum carpet and mop floors

  • Check home for cleanliness and remove clutter

  • Remove seasonal / holiday items so photos are not dated

  • Best light bulbs for photos are LED Soft White

Kitchen

  • Remove small appliances from countertop

  • Remove dishes, soap, trash cans, and magnets from fridge

  • Clean appliances to remove fingerprints and streaks

  • Remove high chair, boosters and child proof locks

Living Room

  • Hide visible electronic cords

  • Put away remotes, game equipment and reading material

  • Fluff couch cousions and pillows, fold blankets or put away

Bedrooms

  • Make beds; items under beds should not be visible

  • Clear night stands and dressers

  • Remove personalized name / decals from walls

Outdoor

  • Landscaping! Mow, trim trees and shrubs, rake leaves

  • Sweep porch, patio and decks Put away trash bins, hoses, security signs and play equipment

  • Clean pool, remove pool hose and equipment

  • Turn on water features

  • Wipe outdoor furniture, remove grill cover, open umbrellas

  • DO NOT park vehicles on driveway or in front of the home

  • Power wash dirt and mildew from driveway, deck and patio, fence and home’s exterior to look new and improve curb appeal. This will help sell faster!

Bathrooms

  • Put away toiletries, toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo and soap

  • Close toilet lids

  • Remove any used towels and bath mats

  • Clean mirrors, fixtures and shower door

Entry / Mudroom / Laundry

  • Remove floor mats, shoes, umbrellas, backpacks

Pets

  • Remove pet bowls, beds and kennel from view

  • Best if pets can be elsewhere during photo shoot
